Two months of holiday just passed like a big gale. With an unsual bit of anxious anticipation this year, it's first day back in gakko (Japanese: school) in the blink of an eye! This blog entry contains some coarse language. How's it? Well, let's see..opening schedule for the next 14 days ain't very good. Out of two weeks, I'm expected to return to campus for 11 days. Omg.. pack! pack! pack!
To begin gakko, the very first lecture we expected was an impressioned to be dry one. Commercial Law. What to say... first of all, let's talk about our lecturer from RMIT, Melbourne. He started the lecture with his three rules. Firstly, he wants all our mobile phones to be switched off. Secondly, he expect us to keep total silence. "Able to hear a pin drop". Sighz. Thirdly, when he speaks, he doesn't want others to speak at the same time unless the need or discussion.
Well, not that I'm obessessed with him but I guess these are every educator's "golden rules". Except I didn't really agree to the very first rule. Turn off? Just put your mobile phone to silent mode can liao ma. Oops.. looks like the disobedient genes are itching again!!
Nevertheless, I was trying to get the best of the lecture. Australians have the habit to mumble, dampen their diction just when they didn't realise their unfamiliar slang was abit imcomprehendable. Ha! After which, I realised something about him. This lecturer was rather "guai lan" (Hokkien: Intolerably displeasing). He will just talk and stop like a jerky bus showing symptoms of breaking down. Well, he wasn't breaking down. However, it's his time-wasting way of enforcing his third rule of lecture. What's more? He will just sit and gradually, his positions got more restless. Omg.
In addition, the lecturer spent 2 hours on explaining how Singapore Laws were originated from the COMMON LAW. For a moment, I wondered if this was a history or law lecture. Perhaps it was required in the syllabus. However, I was eagerly yearning to be taught the Laws itself.
Well. I came out of the lecture room knowing nuts about what he was trying to teach. Thank goodness my strained ears did manage to get some things he spoke for notes taking. Unfortunately, the people around me were getting bored and causing certain undesirable disturbance. It was revealed (well, Qing did warn me earlier) that Accountancy students are to expect alot of law related modules in their course of study. No wonder, Law always comes with accounting.
After lecture, Zhen Ze had to rush for his tuition. So we got our Price and Market notes from the admin office and went off. Initially, I wanted to get my Law text for some diligence learning. Sigh. I made a trip near Popular and turned back since it was already sardined with students. Aww.. hardly know if there's gonna be any available after today.
I wasn't feeling well. since yesterday. Running nose and feverish feeling. It didn't occur to me until it was getting unbearable that I decided to visit the clinic on a Sunday when most of the clinics closed. I ended myself waiting for almost one hour plus before I actually managed to consult the doctor. Sigh. Alot of people asked me what did the doctor said. Weird. The doctor didn't mentioned much. The only thing he asked was whether I'd prefer to have non-drowsiness causing medicine. Of course!
Otherwise, he spent most of the time answering my questions. Ha! I asked how long it will take to recover. (Since I hate being in a sick-mode). And do you know that drinking plenty of water after you're sick doesn't really helps you recover earlier. Ha! According to the doctor, it's just the same as vitamins. It only helps prevent but not heal.. Hmm.. so next time, change your advice when you're telling your ill-ed friends and family members such myths!
:: Lastly, I wanna say a special thanks to someone who have been keeping me accompany and cheer me with all those sweet sms-es. I can't forget you mentioning your new year's resolution. Erm.. not expecting much. Hopefully... it will be a better year for the both of us.
